Work
With Me
Therapy helps when you finally have the space to understand what’s going on inside you, in real time, with someone who can help you stay with what matters.
How I Work
I work with a psychodynamic and ISTDP-informed approach. That means we explore three things together:
What you’re feeling
What gets in the way of those feelings
How those patterns play out in your life today
This is steady, focused work. I help you stay with the emotional moment rather than drift into old relational patterns or self-criticism. You don’t have to be polished or articulate, you just have to be honest about what’s happening inside you.
Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about understanding the emotional forces driving your struggles, so you gain more choice, more capacity, and more room to breathe.
What Sessions Are Like
People often imagine therapy as a calm conversation. Sometimes it is. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable, confusing, relieving, or surprising.
What actually matters is what’s happening in you as we talk.
Sessions focus on:
the emotion moving underneath your words
the anxiety that rises when something important appears
the defences you’ve learned to survive
the real feeling you’ve avoided for years
the patterns that show up between us in the room
This kind of work is active. I’m engaged, present, and working with you moment-by-moment.
Who I Work With
I work with adults across the UK who are dealing with:
emotional avoidance
shame and self-criticism
relationship patterns that won’t shift
anxiety and overwhelm
trauma responses and old wounds resurfacing
feeling disconnected, “shut down,” or stuck
repeating emotional cycles
the inner critic and identity confusion
If you’re ready to explore what’s happening beneath the surface, this work often brings clarity and relief.
How We Begin
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. We take it at a pace that matches your capacity.
Here’s how people usually begin:
1. An initial session
We talk about what’s bringing you here, what’s been difficult, and what you want to understand or change.
2. Exploring the patterns together
We notice what’s happening in you as we talk, your feelings, your anxiety and your impulses to avoid.
3. Building the work
If it feels like the right fit, we continue at a steady pace that matches your emotional capacity, not pressure or expectation.
There’s no commitment and no pressure to continue beyond what feels useful.
Confidentiality & Professional Standards
I’m an MBACP psychodynamic psychotherapist working to the BACP Ethical Framework. Sessions are confidential, held securely online, and grounded in clinical training and over 4,000 hours of real therapeutic work.
Every session is an opportunity to:
Explore the feelings you’ve been avoiding
Understand recurring patterns in your relationships and inner life
Build the skills and courage to choose freedom over repetition
